Newcastle

Dan & I used up our remaining holiday on a long weekend to go and visit my Mum up north. On the friday we met up with my uni mate Ani and her husband Sunil and new son Roan for lunch – home cooked indian food
) Then we set off on the next leg of the journey to Manchester for dinner. We met up with my brother David, his finacee Anita and my Aunt Sue & Uncle Neil for dinner at a chinese place. It was a great meal, and left us rtather full when we set off again on the final leg of the journey north. Getting lost in Manchester delayed us a bit but we made it to my Mum’s place in Washington eventually and were able to get to bed not too long after midnight.
We had a good weekend in Washington. On the saturday we went out for a big meal with my extended family up north (14 of us all told – a lot of names for Dan to remember) and on the sunday went to the cinema and then for a wander along the beach and played in the arcades.
On monday we started our drive back south. We thought it would be a much easier trip than heading up – famous last words. The M1 was closed near Nottingham, and we were delayed for about 4hrs in the end. We did get back eventually tho, and Dan survived meeting nearly all of my family. Only my other brother Andy and a few extended family members on my Dad’s side still to go.
