Dan proposed to me on Friday, getting down on 1 knee and offering me a haribo ring
We’re just back from a great weekend in London, we saw Wicked at the theater and went ring shopping in Covent Garden. I’ve now got a lovely diamond ring, pictures in the gallery. Wedding plans will be started later in the year, we’re aiming for sometime in 2012 currently. We will be planning an Engagement Party in the meantime though.

Just cancelled the National Trust Holiday we had booked for August. Details changed completely – so no longer the experience we were expecting, and had paid a premium for!
The original details stated:
Spend a week learning about hazel coppice and how it should be managed. You can learn how to harvest the material to make rustic stick furniture, besom brooms, hazel hurdles and ash gate hurdles. Some time will also be dedicated to making charcoal, camping under the stars and eating wild food cooked on an open fire. Goodies galore, things to take home and a chance to sample old style green living.
The new details sent through were:
You can learn all about hazel coppice and how to manage it over this week. Join us to harvest the materials whilst helping to improve the woodland for wildlife. You’ll have a day’s tuition with our local hurdle maker who will teach you this traditional craft. This is an opportunity to step away from modern life and sample an older and greener style of living in an important conservation area with ancient woodland, farmland, heathland and different ponds.

I suffered a number of injuries during May, which made my exercise targets, and so my weight loss targets, much harder to reach. Everything seems OK again now though so looking forward to June.
- I lost a few pounds, but I’m back to about 20% of my target – so a long way to go still
- My professions case is still in progress, I really need to get this completed
- Exercise was OK, dropping to an average 3 sessions per week. This was mainly walking though as my shoulder / wrist injuries made anything more active rather painful.
- I looked into getting my BCS CITP and, according to a quick online check, I may need a bit more experience before applying, so I am putting this target on hold until next year.
- In it’s place I am looking at putting together a promotion case to go for the next level at IBM instead.
- I successfully went the entire month without eating chocolate at all!
Specific targets for June are to keep losing weight and maintain the exercise levels. Basically to get back on track for the overall yearly targets (1 stone weight loss).
