Cat Fostering

I’ve signed up with the Southampton branch of the Cats Protection League (CPL) today as a cat fosterer. They don’t keep cats in a cattery when they’re waiting to be homed, but with a network of fosterers who look after them either in a kennel outside, in a single room in the house or in the whole house as if the cat were their own. In my case I’ll be doing whole house fostering, and it gives me a great chance to have a cat around while helping the charity at the same time. The charity provides all the equipment and supplies needed to care for their cats and pays for any vet treatment too. All I have to do is care for the cat(s) and, obviously, give them up once they’re adopted. I’m looking forward to getting my first care once I’m back from holiday.

Hursley Club AGM

It was the AGM for the IBM Hursley Club at lunchtime, unfortunately I was ill and couldn’t make it in. However, I was elected to the committee once again, although I will be standing down as Entertainments sub-committee chair as I just don’t have the time to commit to it currently.

Car Boot Sale

I’ve nearly finished unpacking, and have sorted out a pile of stuff to get rid of, so Dan & I headed off to a car boot sale this morning. We didn’t do too badly, making nearly £40, although we seemed to come back with nearly as much as we went there with. I’ll have to do another one once I’ve finished unpacking and sorting out.
