Helen & I handed in the keys for the MadHouse today, officially marking the end of an era. We’d lived together for over 4 years so it’s going to take a while to get used to the new house on my own. I’m looking forward to it though, and I’ll be heading round to visit Helen, Andrew & Cal regularly too.

With a bit of overlap in the contracts I managed to shift quite a lot of stuff before the ‘big day’ but there was still a lot of work to be done with the van. Thankfully I found a few friends to give me a hand and it didn’t take too long to load all the furniture and remaining boxes and shift them from Winchester to Southampton. My new place in Hedge End is only 1 bedroom, so much smaller than the 3 bedrom house in Winchester. It’s going to take quite a bit of clearing out to fit comfortably I think. The best bit though is this time it’s a private rental agreement, and I’m allowed to have a cat! I’ll be looking into this as soon as possible once I’m sorted.

Mum came to visit for a few days, to give me a hand getting sorted ready for moving and to celebrate my birthday. We also headed off to London for a day to visit Andy.

There was a double celebration this time, with it being close to my birthday and the final MadHouse party before the end of the era! As always there was a theme, this time it was ‘Memories of the MadHouse’ so any of the previous themes could be used.
