Message Broker BBQ

As a thankyou for our work so far (and encouragement to continue our efforts) my department was treated to an afternoon off to enjoy a BBQ at the clubhouse. It was a lovely afternoon, lots of food, free drink and we even managed to play a bit of frisbee on the lawn )

Isle of Wight

Dan & I managed to get a day off work, so we could go for a long weekend to the Isle of Wight. We booked in to a lovely B&B, and had a great weekend, we even managed to get sunburnt on the saturday while we were exploring the zoo, eating ice cream on the beach & playing crazy golf! Unfortunately the sunday was rather wet, but we still had an unforgettable experience watching Pirates of the Caribbean in a leaky cinema!! We also managed to fit in a vist to the garlic farm, a wander round the local crafts centre and really enjoyed the Waltzing Waters show too.

Riding in the New Forest

Carla & I decided to travel a bit furtehr afield & see what options there were for horse riding in the New Forest. We had a lovely 1hr ride with Bagnum Stables, the only problem being it wasn’t long enough. Hoping to go for a 2hr ride next time!

Hursley Club AGM

Fri lunchtime was the Hursley Club AGM. I was re-elected, so I’m still on the management committee. I’m intending to expand my knowledge (and influence) on a few more sub-committees this year.

Caterham / Avenue Q

As I was in London for a course on Fri, and we were going to see Avenue Q on Sat, we decided to visit Dan’s parents at the same time. So on Fri I headed into London for a course on Influencing People, then met up with Gilli, Mat & Isla for dinner before heading to Caterham to meet up with Dan. Then on Sat we helped Pauline (Dan’s Mum) get sorted for her postcard stand at the local fair, before heading into London to see Avenue Q (which is fantastic!) and then we enjoyed a lovely meal at La Tasca as Dan was celebrating getting a promotion ) So all in all a busy, but fun weeknd.

MadHouse Cartoon Party

Another great MadHouse party!! Typically as we’d cancelled the BBQ due to the forecast not looking great we had a fantastic sunny day – but the later start time meant Helen & I didn’t have to rush too much to get everything sorted. The cartoon theme worked well, with loads of great costumes once again – tho the MadHouse isn’t big enough to cope with many more old costumes. Loads of pics were taken – they’ll be going up on AngelPics soon.
