My Birthday

As I couldn’t take my Black Belt grading this month as originally intended I pulled my birthday ceebration forward to actually be near my birthday.  Actually on my birthday I had a quiet day with Dan (he made me a fantastic cake, covered in chocolate!) and then the weekend after I went out to celebrate.

On fri 13th I headed to Colleys Supper Rooms with Dan, Helen and Sam.  I’d tried to get a big group booking but had left it too late, so it was just the 4 of us.  It was a fantastic meal tho, 7 courses over about 3.5hrs – we all rolled home & had trouble sleeping we were so full!

On sat I went out for lunch with Dan and a few friends from uni (Gilli, Adele & Tom).   We ate at the Royal Oak – absolutely amazing burgers   Then in the evening went out for drinks with various friends from down here.  There was about 14 of us in the end, and we had a good night in the Bishop.

Finally moving with the times slightly, I’ve now got a domain & updated the site.

I’ve transferred the old content but put the news from each year into it’s own post rather than doing each one individually. It’s going to take a while to get it all sorted out properly but hopefully this will work out better )

Jump

As part of my birthday pressie Dan paid for my ticket to see ‘Jump’ in London.  It was a fantastic show, lots of martial arts and some comedy too.  We went to see this with Gilli, Dan & Suzy and went for a meal afterwards too.  On the way home from London we popped in to see my brother Andy briefly too, which means Dan has now met all of my immediate family and quite a few of the extended family too.

Newcastle

Dan & I used up our remaining holiday on a long weekend to go and visit my Mum up north.  On the friday we met up with my uni mate Ani and her husband Sunil and new son Roan for lunch – home cooked indian food )  Then we set off on the next leg of the journey to Manchester for dinner.  We met up with my brother David, his finacee Anita and my Aunt Sue & Uncle Neil for dinner at a chinese place.  It was a great meal, and left us rtather full when we set off again on the final leg of the journey north.  Getting lost in Manchester delayed us a bit but we made it to my Mum’s place in Washington eventually and were able to get to bed not too long after midnight.

We had a good weekend in Washington.  On the saturday we went out for a big meal with my extended family up north (14 of us all told – a lot of names for Dan to remember) and on the sunday went to the cinema and then for a wander along the beach and played in the arcades.

On monday we started our drive back south.  We thought it would be a much easier trip than heading up – famous last words.  The M1 was closed near Nottingham, and we were delayed for about 4hrs in the end.  We did get back eventually tho, and Dan survived meeting nearly all of my family.  Only my other brother Andy and a few extended family members on my Dad’s side still to go.
